URL parameters and variable mapping

Unipark allows you to pass external variables into a survey via the URL. This is useful for pre-filling participant data, tracking sources, or personalizing surveys.

Basic syntax

Append parameters to your survey URL like this:
https://www.unipark.de/www/uc/survey.php?a=xxxx&your_variable=value

Important rules

• Variable names are case-sensitive. ParticipantID and participantid are different variables.
• Variables must be defined in the project settings under Extern vordefinierte Variablen before they can be used.
• Use lowercase variable names consistently to avoid confusion.

Common mistake

If your variable values are not being captured, the most common cause is a case mismatch between the variable name in the URL and the variable name defined in the project settings.
